they managed to make an xi emulator wherein you can be in a zone by yourself, no interactiveness available yet, but it seems like it's coming along nicely.


how cool would it to be to have a fully functional emulator the entire ls could get onto at once? we could finally fight shit we've wanted to without the bullshit claim nonsense, just for fun

An emulated Bahamut could only approximate Bahamut's real behavior Q_Q

... and with how infrequently Bahamut is fought, it won't even be a very close approximation.

It's pretty much exactly like bootleg RO servers ... I just don't think the use for such servers has been determined yet. And the functionality is extremely limited at the moment. It's basically the first step to getting a full-blown bootleg FFXI server running.

That said, it's a long long long long LONG road ahead, and I doubt the game will still be alive by the time they actually finish unless they give up trying to precisely replicate the game and instead decide to give mobs their own behaviors that they develop themselves.

i'm playing AquaRO. Low rate 4x/4x/3x. Already 8x/5x GC Sader though

Server's pretty new too, just started a month ago. Not too much economy at the moment.
