Hey time to put some of you smart guys to the test.
My tv lately (or maybe I just started to notice it) is humming through the speakers. What I was able to narrow the hum down to is it will only hum on the imputs that are hooked up to an analog audio/video signal. For the tv and the ps3 I have Component signal running to it.
I was playing around with it and when I pulled out the audio jacks from the plugs the hum stopped, and when I'd go to put even 1 back in (either white or red didn't matter) the hum returned. It didn't make a difference if the equipment was turned on and sending signal to the tv or not when I tested it. I got hum from the cable box which was on and then got hum from the ps3 line even though it was turned off.
Any ideas? I get no hum on the speakers from Digital signals. I have HDMI going to the tv for the dvd player. If it's an analog vs. digital thing I can fix that easily enough with the ps3 but I don't think Comcast has receivers that support HDMI.
