Well we have returned from our Field Training Exercise and I had the opprotunity to actually sleep in a real bed last night :P. The whole thing is not completely finished yet though we still have what is called "Recovery". Now when you and I think of that word we think of resting, getting better, and well...recovering. The army uses this word a little differently. This isn't recovery for the soldiers but recovery for the stuff ><. We still need to break everything down, transport it back to the unit, inventory it, clean it til it's near new, repair it, pack it, and get it all ready for the next time. Who says soldiers need rest?!

I didn't take any pictures because I was really friggen busy the whole time, but there was another guy there who took like a million so I'll sort through his when he get's them posted and copy some to show people. I was recomended for what's called "Soldier of the Field" which if I win (which the Sargeant Major already said I pretty much did) I get an Army Achievement Medal.

I won't be on still for a few more days. Spending today with my wife and tomorrow I'm heading to D.C to run the Army 10 Miler, nice little 10 mile run through D.C with 20,000 other people. :P I'll try to get back on sometime during the week and check things out and try to get back into whatever.

Kay, see everyone soon.

Ouch. x.x I hope you don't strain anything.

Enjoy the run -- city runs are generally fun! -- and we'll see you when we see you. Also enjoy the niceness of a proper bed. :D

Yeah funny you should mention that since they want me to go to the Promotion Board for E-5 in December. We have this wierd thing going on right now where there are only 4 enlisted in my squad; two NCO's and two lower. Well One of the E-5's is going to Fort Lewis in Washington and the other is getting Med-boarded and discharged from the Army. Me going to the board in December will be about 6 months earlly for me but it's on a Waver, the command feels out of all the current E-4's we have (about 7) I'm the only one that's NCO material atm.

But yeah I'm short points, I have Civilian Ed, Certificates of Achievement, and Marksmenship maxed...I'm short Correspondance Courses, PT, and Awards ; ; If I spent like a good strait month of doing nothing but the courses online once I get home from work I could max those out (have little over 100, need about 800-900, have A LOT of Military Ed for things like Combat Life Saver, Armor, Driving, etc). PT will be a bitch since I messed my ankle up back in November 04. I used to run my 2 mile in 13:15 at 97%, now I'm around 14:30~. Last is Awards, not easy to come by but AAM's are 20 points with a max of 100 for that catergory....only need 4 more.

Really depends on how serious I get in the next month or so. Pushing for E-5 is a lot of work for my MOS (my job) since we normally need 790+ points out of a possible 800 total, they expect Lab Techs to pretty much be perfect.

I'll keep people informed on what I plan on doing with that. If I end up making the push I'll pretty much be temp quitting the game between now and December to get my shit together. I don't know yet, still a big commitiment to make.

I wish it was that hard to advance in the Air Force... we have so many slackers that I'm probably going to get below the zone E-4 just from doing my gd job. >< E-4 is fine... but I definitely don't want all the responsibility that comes with E-5.
