With regards to the topic... these server downtimes suck... they have rediculously long down times on WoW too... at least in UO if a server went down on the east coast for nightly maintenance, you could play a west coast server until that went down, and by then the east coast server would be back up again. I think I'd prefer the shorter nightly maintenance over the weekly extremely long maintenance some MMOs have. :(

reason they do maintainence during the day so much is because its nighttime in japan around daytime here so its a good time to do the stuff since the jp players are mostly asleep. they dont rly care that the na's are on during this time.

Yes... but 10 hours? That's longer than most people's work schedules, that's a little long... I'd rather have 2-3 hour downtimes on a daily basis.

s/e likes to do multi hour maintainences like this. i quite fondly remember 5 and 6 hour maintainences on days where i only had like THAT day to play for a while or planning stuff out only to find out that BAM emergency extended maintainence for another 2 hours and most of the f'n time they dont fix shit, i still dc every 30 mins when i wouldnt dc for 7-9 hours in the past. at the same time tho i guess this isnt so bad since these large time consuming ones dont happen THAT often.
