I wouldn't buy that game, I don't even like the Sims at all.

I'll stick with XBL for now. A way to connect through gaming sounds much better than just a way to connect on a gaming platform that has little to do with games.

I used to love Sony, a hell of a lot more than microsoft, but i stepped out of my denial to realize Sony is just gasping for air right now. Hopefully they will pull themselves back up sometime.

Oh, and Hironobu said he wants to make a MMORPG for Xbox 360, now. so fuck yea and all that.

PS Home is a free download! I forgot to mention that.

Edit: Here's another article. Note the conspicuous absence of exactly how Home is supposed to link you up to online multiplayer games, just like all the other articles.

It's still in beta. I wouldn't be suprised if it were implemented later on? i dunno

But while premium content is a no-brainer, Harrison also showed off other, more ingenious ways Sony will glean coin from Home. First of these is in-game advertising. All public spaces and lobbies in Home will have large, dynamically generated virtual video monitors, banners, and billboards hawking various products.

smart move with the advertising there

And so you posted this on the public forums?

Although reading the article Lef posted left me with that same impression. It just looks like Second Life or The Sims, with no real hook into 3rd-party game-playing. What's the use of a 3d lobby if you can't then partner up with some of the people you meet there and play a game with them? Oh, and I'll eventually be able to spend real money to buy a shirt or something for my avatar to impress virtual women (who are really old fat guys)? Sweet!

Even if this interface did have a more robust 3rd-party game hook, it'd be such a pain in the ass to use. From a FFXI perspective, think about how annoying it is to have to run across a zone to mail something at the AH, and the run back to your moghouse to receive stuff. Now picture that same kind of thing every time you want to send your friends a note, or join a multiplayer game. I'd take a simple interface that involves a few button presses any day of the week.

I just read a little bit about Trophies (Sony's answer to achievements.) It sounds kind of interesting, being able to display them in your rooms. The only thing that sounds bad, is that Sony isnt going to make it a requirement for games to have trophies...

Hopefully developers will get the hint and add them.
